If you feel hung up right now, that’s the Universe saying, hey buddy, take a pause. The hours right before each new moon are when subtle energies are more internal than any other time during the moon’s cycle. The Gemini new moon/solar eclipse that is happening at 6:52am (eastern) on June 10 is no exception. In fact, the whole vibe is accentuated by the current retrograde journeys of Mercury, Saturn, and (to a lesser extent) Pluto.
Things are feeling a bit dreamy, a bit floaty. Time is not linear. It’s okay, just let it go. We still have a ton of stuff going on in mutable signs, working out the directions and nailing nothing down. This is good. We need to be in a state of receptivity if we are ever really going to figure anything out. For a lot of people, myself included, the wide openness of moments like this can feel really weird and even a bit scary. Like we’ve lost whatever we were holding on to and are now spiraling out into some vast, undefined space that we have no way to comprehend. That’s exactly what’s happening. The key is release. The key is faith. Maybe… just maybe the Universe is conspiring in your favor.
The Sagittarius full moon/lunar eclipse two weeks ago inspired a lot of lively and impassioned activity. Winding down through the waning moon phases, rest becomes more important. There is definitely desire to push through. Go ahead, push. That’s how you find your limit. When you do find it, respect it. Saturn (who marks the literal boundary between the traditional seven planets and the great beyond) Rx in Aquarius is providing this moon with a trine. When a malefic planet (Saturn or Mars) is retrograde, this can actually signify favorable reversals. Saturn tends to slow things down. In this context, it feels like the god of patience, austerity, and all things somber is supporting us in efforts to see the silver lining of a dark cloud or two. This is all prep work. For what? We’ll probably start to see the shape of it when Mercury stations direct on the 24th. This is but one segment of a much longer game. Play on.
Speaking of games, our friend Mercury (patron of tricks, pranks, and everything you can play from chutes and ladders to the stock market) will be cazimi (at the heart of or exactly conjunct the sun) not too long after the eclipse has perfected. A cazimi marks the midpoint of every one of Mercury’s retrograde journeys. For a brief period, the woes that may have befallen the traveler are forgotten and all seems well. This is really powerful stuff! I feel that “manifestation”, especially during an eclipse and with so many planets, including the ruler, in reverse mode, is not really the thing right now… But getting really quiet and listening for what whispers are being spoken from the spaces between everything can be equally as powerful. Maybe this is not a time to perpetuate our own agendas, but a time to hear the Universe’s desires for us with nothing but wonder, awe, curiosity, and reverence. This may feel difficult because there is still so much mental chatter flapping around, but what better time to practice?
I don’t know about y’all, but my brain just doesn’t want to work right now. I’m gonna let that be what it is. I hope that you have the time and space to allow your mind to roam free for a little while. If you would like more sense made of this moon, please reach out. I would love to read for you.
