Venus+Mars Opposite Saturn

For your listening pleasure: Venus+Mars in Leo/Saturn in Aquarius Playlist

Saturn is still dancing backward through its second square of the year to Uranus. These heavy hitting outer planets are reminding us to stay on topic and not to allow the inspiration gained through challenges we’ve faced to get lost amid daily routines. When the planet of form and function turns around once more, we will have an opportunity to refine just how we want our revolution to look, feel, taste, smell, and sound, and finally to implement what is needed to make it so. Until then, we are reviewing the details, collecting additional information, and planning our strategies.

We have just entered into a series of interactions between the stars of 2021’s show, Saturn and Uranus, and the planets of what we want and how we want to go about getting it, Venus and Mars. On June 26, Mars in Leo slid into an opposition with Saturn in Aquarius, where it will stay until July 7. On July 4, the goddess of love, relationships, and all things pleasant will enter that same oppositional relationship with old Cronos. An opposition is like a seesaw. There are two energies that seek balance, but it is much more likely to see one up while the other is down. The pivot of our seesaw will be played by Uranus, the master of eccentricities, who is parked in Taurus. On the 4th, the Moon will be cozying up to Uranus to light up the whole extravaganza.

This can feel a bit stressful, but it’s all in the name of progress. Remember that if you’re feeling the heat, you have the power to step back and employ a more detached perspective. It’s a real Christmas Carol (I’m going with the Disney version here) vibe, if I’m honest. I hear Jiminy Cricket’s voice speaking so loudly through this transit to the Scrooge McDuck parts of ourselves… telling us that we’ve used our dollars to achieve our desires with less thought about how they affect the Earth and all of the beings that reside here than may have been prudent. Most of us are not swimming around in rooms full of gold, but that doesn’t mean that we have no accounting to do for our pasts. Every dollar is a vote, people. Remember that. Here are a few other themes that will mix and mingle:

  • Personal creative desires duking it out with our responsible adult obligations
  • Tempers running high because progress on certain issues seems to I have slowed
  • Reconsidering what we want and how we go about getting it due to reflection upon social/environmental issues (think consumerism)
  • Desire to create something beautiful that will stand the test of time
  • Fiery passions ignited in a way that may feel a bit incendiary, but are checked by logical and responsible reflection

Once Mars and Venus have finished their seesaw sesh with Saturn and Uranus, they will join up in Leo for their own little love affair. This is going down July 7-16 and perfecting (at its most intense) on the 12th with the Moon, again, lighting up the trieste. As more challenging energies of previous transits dissipate, we gain some space to enjoy a new sense of unity between our preferences/wishes and actions/will. There’s so much inspiration here to create something that comes straight from the heart. Mars and Venus want to fully enjoy the *passion*, *spirit*, and *sensuality* of conceiving a legacy fit for a monarch, which is precisely Leo’s goal. I see us coming through a period of testing, reflection, and redirection into a new groove. This is a process of creating new rules and guidelines for how we conduct ourselves and how we channel our desires not only for our own gratification, but for the well-being of all with whom we coexist.

There’s plenty more to say about all of this, as the new moon in Cancer lands just at the turning point between one series of transits and the next. We have much to plan during this fertile season in preparation for what we will build once Leo rolls around. Stay tuned!
